STYLE FRAMES
STOP MOTION
Inspired by vintage nautical aesthetics, I aimed to create a piece that referenced that iconic style. I drew from the playful, slapstick humor of classic maritime films and developed a visual style that reflected that look and charm.
After an awkward chat with a Whole Foods butcher, I embraced a hands-on approach to bring the kraken to life. I used real octopus tentacles and stop-motion to capture its tactile qualities. No octopi were harmed in the making of this video.

MOTION DESIGN
For this project, the objective was to craft a composition that prioritized texture and tangibility. To achieve this, I integrated real octopus tentacles with stop-motion, blending traditional and digital techniques to enhance the tactile quality of the design. I wanted to capture the tone of old time nautical styles, drawing inspiration from Flapjack, The lighthouse and Moby Dick.
